Chris RobertsCo-founder

Chris Roberts grew up in Utah and has lived there for most of his life, spending a significant amount of time over the last 25 years working on the road. Chris was introduced to the arts by his mother and has an appreciation for theater, dance, and music. Although he did not pursue music or theater, he participated in ballroom dance for over 20 years and was part of the first UVU team to compete in Blackpool, England.

In 2024, Pam and Chris organized their first fundraising gala to provide music scholarships for children at “School of Rock Sandy”. They soon recognized a broader need to support the arts beyond just music and scholarships, leading to the creation of the Dragonfly Dreams Foundation in early 2025.

Before his involvement with the charity, Chris spent years teaching ballroom dance to elementary school students in Utah and Salt Lake counties. He observed the positive impact that dance had on these children, such as building their confidence and encouraging self-expression, which inspired him and Pam to establish the Dragonfly Dreams Foundation.

Pamela HardmanCo-founder

Pamela Hardmen serves as President and Operations Manager, bringing strong leadership and organizational expertise to every project she undertakes. Known for her ability to guide teams through challenges with clarity and confidence, Pamela is passionate about building systems that drive long-term success.

Outside of work, she enjoys jeeping and spending time outdoors with her family. Pamela is also an active member of several nonprofit organizations focused on music, the arts, and creating positive change in the community.

Jay HafenSecretary

Born and raised in Utah County, Jay Hafen has been immersed in the arts from a young age. A competitive dancer throughout high school and college, Jay went on to become a studio owner and a longtime ballroom dance teacher at Alta and Lehi High Schools.

His passion for the performing arts extends beyond dance—Jay has been active in local community theater, performing in musicals such as Into the Woods, Evita, Mamma Mia, Brigadoon, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Music Man. He has also choreographed numerous productions, including Oklahoma, The King and I, and Aida.

In addition to his artistic contributions, Jay is a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Little Peace of Hafen, a mental health clinic dedicated to helping individuals find healing and balance. Learn more at littlepeaceofhafen.com

Rachell McConkieBoard Member

Rachell McConkie is passionate about making a meaningful difference in her community—especially when it comes to children’s education. She has served on the board of Fight to Thrive, an organization that provided housing, food, and schooling for Haitian orphans.

Rachell is a strong advocate for giving all children access to arts and music education. She believes every child deserves the opportunity to discover their passions and unlock their full potential.

Carlos "Chiqui" PeláezBoard Member

Carlos "Chiqui" Peláez moved to the United States from Colombia in 1998 and has called Utah home for most of his life. Deeply committed to his community, Carlos has worked at USANA for over 20 years while also dedicating his time to service and mentorship. In addition to his professional career, Carlos serves on the boards of two nonprofit organizations and volunteers as a youth soccer coach. His passion for giving back and supporting others is evident in everything he does—both on and off the field.

Alex AustinBoard Member

Coach Alex founded A-Train Magic in Utah in 2004, following a successful professional basketball career in the NBA and Europe. His passion for coaching and youth development led him to create a program focused on teaching the fundamentals of basketball and helping young athletes grow to their next level—whatever that may be.

Alex excels at breaking down the basics and building players’ skills and understanding from the ground up. More than just a coach, he’s a mentor who is deeply committed to giving back to his community and shaping the next generation through basketball and service.
